Smoke Guard has been in business since 1991 and has installed more than 50,000 units worldwide. They needed a website that helped market their new products, but also one that helped manage their growing number of distributors across the nation and globally. This meant a complete design refresh, including expanding the primary color scheme and modernizing the design. This design update was built using a responsive front-end framework enabling tablet and smartphone users the ability to easily access information.
The backbone of the site was built using Umbraco, an open-source solution built using Microsoft’s ASP.NET technology. This platform provides an easy-to-use solution for Smoke Guard staff while providing a flexible architecture to build custom tools and revamp the distributor's internal site. Because Umbraco allows us to precisely define manageable content areas, the marketing team has complete control over the website. Beyond content management, custom admin tools were created to manage products, distributor contacts, marketing materials and e-commerce. PLUTO helped with the migration of the site to new hosting.
